GET LYRICAL

There is a new dance class in Belltown. "Lyrical Modern Jazz." We are not exactly sure what that means but hey, why not? Starting October 4th, Fridays 3:30 to 5 pm at the BBC Studio, 2211 First Avenue. Mary Lou Sanelli is teaching and has been teaching for 18 years so we figure she knows what she is doing.

WEAR THE KILT

Okay they are not actually in Belltown, they are just up the road on 15th Avenue, but men in kilts are sexy so every man in Belltown go to Utilikilts at 1819 15th Ave West and get a kilt right now. Only you can make Belltown the sexiest neighborhood in Seattle.

SAVE SECOND AVENUE

Okay we know you are busy but you do know Second Avenue is about to take a dive right? This is because three Belltown groups just do not seem to be able to convince Elevated Transport Company anyone will fight a new monorail down Second Avenue. Now maybe you like the idea of a monorail down Second Avenue. If you do, do not do this. But if you do not? If you have anything to say? There is a meeting April 17th at the "Carpenter's Hall" under the MaGuire Apartments on 2nd Avenue between Cedar and Wall. Everyone is invited. Everyone means "you." And you live here. You should have an opinion.

BUY THE NUN

We have loved Blu Canary [2331 2nd Ave.] ever since we first walked in and saw Nunzilla on the toy table. [Nunzilla is a wind up hopping nun toy that shoots sparks when it hops yay!] Visit this store it is packed with wonderful cards and toys and some of the most interesting stationary, trinkets and gifts you will find. And -- they are dog friendly. That makes big points with us. Yay!

FORGET DOMINOES

As long as you are on 2nd Avenue visiting Blu Canary, when is the last time you had pizza that tasted like real food? Not just real food, good food? Lush Life at 2331 2nd Ave. [yes, in the same building right next door how convenient] has absolutely the best pizza in Seattle. Lush Life pizza is not even like pizza, it is cuisine. It ain't cheap though bring your wallet and also prepare to taste some really good wine we suggest a Cabernet at the bar with the little sausage pizza.

TRY A NEW RESTAURANT

A new restaurant has opened at the corner of Wall & 2nd : EN Seattle at 2429 2nd brings you "Modern Japanese" cuisine from the authentic EN restaurant in Tokyo, Japan, and has a selection of Italian, French, and Napa Valley wines, 10 varieties of sake, and beers from around the world to accompany your meal in a casual, elegant environment. EN also features live music every Friday night and --

Also we like EN because they smile and wave at people walking dogs.

YELL AT ELEVATED TRANSPORT

Yes, we think you should do this. Unless you are in favor of a new monorail, to complement and/or compete with the old monorail, (how many different monorails do we need?) to rip down 2nd Avenue when they sneak this one past a vote in November. Think they won't pull it off? We wouldn't bet on it. And November may feel far off now, but come November, it'll seem pretty damn abrupt. Go read up on this in news, then tell them what you think at:
